 Christmas Cheeses
Farrah's Manager said:
The onset of the Festive Season has reminded me that one needs to take great care in the selection of Christmas cheeses. Apart from the traditional Stilton, readers may be tempted to venture into previously uncharted cheesy waters with disastrous consequences. I am reminded in particular of my own most inadvisable purchase of an entire "Munster" cheese which rendered firstly my car, then my fridge, a no-go area for several days. Such was the powerful odour emanating from the Munster that eventually it had to be kept in my parents' shed. So be warned. A nice Wensleydale with a bit of Christmas cake should do the trick.

The key factor in cheese appreciation is to let the cheese reach room temperature before eating. It's much tastier this way. My favourite cheese is the tragically underappreciated halloumi. It sqeaks like a mouse when you eat it, which in itself, is a surreal contradiction, akin to discovering that mice were full of holes and had a rind. jez x

Cheese is just the best food ever. And yes, it's better when it's out since a while. And I'm talking about REAL cheese, not of those that everyone can eat like butter or something sweet. A good Camembert, or Roquefort, Munster, Mont d'Or, Cantal, Livarot, Bresse Bleu, Boulette D'Evesne, Epoisse and I'm surely forgetting lots of good ones. Love it.

I'm sensing a nationalistic bias in your choice of cheeses Laure! A good Cheedar or Wensleydale does me just nicely. Not that i don't enjoy a good French cheese every now and again of course.

EPOISSE POWER! :D No need to say that I totally second my friend Laure in her reply. And at the risk to sound a little too patriotic, French Cheeses rock! Oh and don't forget the wine of course! Merry Christmas to everyone btw!
