Q&A

We thought we'd do a little Q&A session to give you an insight to the band. We're not sure how successful it turned out to be...

What’s your favourite song on the new album?

Andrew: My favorite song was left off the album. I'm still sulking about it.
Dana: I like them all.
Jez: Sleep Above The Covers
Michelle: DNA. I dream of the day someone writes me a love song as beautiful.

Where is your favourite place to tour?

Andrew: Everywhere has it's pros and cons. I'd like to play some US shows at some point. (question nicely evaded to keep everybody happy)
Dana: Anywhere that will have me. I love touring.
Jez: Japan, but i love touring in Spain too.
Michelle: Japan, but I also love Spain. We have so many friends now all over the world from touring, I really do have the best job.

What have you been doing since the Japan tour in September?

Andrew: I've mostly been working on various Lojinx projects.
Dana: I have no recollection of the Japanese tour whatsoever, but I must have gone because frequent flyer miles have been credited to my Virgin Flying Club account. So i guess i would have to say trying to remember the japanese tour
Jez: I have re-enacted every moment of the tour at home using models. I miss touring.
Michelle: I've spent a lot of time in New York. Brooklyn is my second home.

What’s your favourite thing about playing your instrument?

Andrew: I enjoy that fact that i get to play a few things in Farrah. So i never get bored of just guitar or keys or whatever.
Dana: Walking onstage and sitting down behind my drums. Best view in the house.
Jez: it's lighter than a piano and you can make it feedback.
Michelle: It's small, like me. I was, at one point, thinking of learning the double bass, but I couldn't see over the top of it. It's bigger than me.

If you could play any instrument, what would it be?

Andrew: I don't play any wind intruments. But probably best to keep it that way. I wish I could play drums better. But my timing sucks.
Dana: My drums.
Jez: Pedal Steel. I have an app on my iPod. I can't even play that.
Michelle: Bass. Or piano. Or piano-accordian.

If you could support any band in the world, who would you choose?

Andrew: The Beatles. Though i'm not sure how great they'd be as a duo.
Dana: Prefer to headline, thank you very much.
Jez: Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, failing that, Jedward.
Michelle: I guess I would say Tom Petty too. I just watched Running Down A Dream and it was so inspiring. And I kind of fancy him.

What are you listening to on your ipod?

Andrew: Palmdale, Dennis Wilson, Henrik demos
Dana: I don't own an ipod.
Jez: Andrew Gold, Andrew Bird, Julie Andrews, The Andrews Sisters. (basically anything Andrew based)
Michelle: Emmylou Harris' Wrecking Ball. And El May. I love it when friends make music I like.

What song is guaranteed to make you dance around the room?

Andrew: Chorus by Erasure
Dana: I'm not much of a dancer. More of a leaner.
Jez: Survivor- Eye Of The Tiger
Michelle: Skeleton Boy by Friendly Fires. It just gets me jumpin.

What’s your musical guilty pleasure?

Andrew: Dunno if it's guilty, but i get a lot of shit for being an Erasure fan.
Dana: I don't feel guilty about any of the music I listen to.
Jez: I wank when i listen to music.. Hold on, that is what this question means, isn't it? Oh, i see. I listen a lot to Rhythm Is A Dancer by Snap.
Michelle: Australian bands from the 80s. It's a goldmine of great stuff to steal from.

What are you most looking forward to in 2010?

Andrew: Starting on the next album.
Dana: Tomorrow.
Jez: The record coming out in the U.K and playing some shows here.
Michelle: Touring, SXSW, the record coming out in the UK and trying to get the album out in the USA. Anyone want to help?

If you had to choose, would you rather world peace or world domination?

Andrew: Depends on who's dominating!
Dana: World peace.
Jez: Um, as i'm not Ming The Merciless, i'll go for world peace.
Michelle: World domination!

And - what colour are your undies?

Andrew: I'm currently in my dressing gown.
Dana: They're white with the name of the day of the week printed on the front. Just like my 3 year old son's. We match.
Jez: They change throughout the day.
Michelle: Floral. I'm such a girl.
